Halloween Costumes for under $20

I never bothered trying to buy a costume for Halloween because

  1. Overpriced
  2. Makes me look like wrapped ham or a pig in a blanket
  3. cheap quality/material
  4. will most likely never wear it again

So I have a solution, dig into your closet and see what you can find.

How to get the look:

  • dig through your closet and find anything that is black/green/khaki. From there, mix and match and see what works best for you.
  • go buy a camouflage cap ( you can easily find one on eBay for under $10)
  • for shoes- black boots are perfect! but  if not as long as the color of the shoes fall under the colors stated above they should do the job.
  • for the military tags, you can either go to a store like Wal-mart and buy it from those machines for dog tags or you can go extremely low budget and make it using cardboard and cutting into the shape of a dog-tag and wrap it with foil!
  • hairstyle: braid to the side

How to get the look:

  • Raid your closet for anything that is black! anything works- shoes, shirts, tanks, blazers, leggings, shorts, skirts etc.
  • buy a FBI cap and FBI badge online ( I bought both of them on eBay, came out to roughly $10)
  • you can either iron the badge to your shirt, on the left side near your chest, or you can use a safety pin to stick to your top and remove after you’re done.
  • hairstyle: tie a ponytail to a side ( look more fierce!)

birth of a fashion blog.

Hello all! Welcome to the official launch of my fashion blog.

Let me tell you briefly about myself and what you can expect from me. My name is Vicheka Im.I’m Cambodian-Chinese and I was born in Creteil, France. I chose to name my blog “The Humble Sybarite” because that sums me up in a nutshell. Sybarite means a person devoted to luxury and pleasure, which is exactly what I am. However, I am still a student so I obviously don’t have the financial means to support the lifestyle I want. That is where the “humble” part comes in.

The goal of my blog is to share with my readers my love for fashion. Overall, I hope that it will inform you/help you/inspire you/entertain you/and expand your horizons.
